Juan Griego is the second largest town on the island and is located on the northeast coast of Isla Margarita almost equidistant between La Restinga Lagoon and the fishing village of Manzanillo.

There are rows of colorful shops in the downtown area of Juan Griego and also by Playa El Caribe.

We went on a weekday so the beach was rather deserted but I've read that Playa El Caribe is quite popular with adults and teens.

There are always vendors on or near the beach including a man who sells fresh oysters, empanada stands, and other local fast food favorites.
