April 28th, 2009The Restaurante Morro Blanco was our lunch stop on the Road Unlimited 4X4 Jeep Tour of Isla Margarita. The restaurant is located on the semi-arid Macanao Peninsula of the island located on the western side. At the Morro Blanco there was a few green iguanas, a macaw parrot and a capuchin monkey. Mirador Puerto Constanza

Playa Manzanillo Fishing Village
April 27th, 2009Playa Manzanillo is a beach in a town of the same name located on the west side of the northeastern tip of Isla Margarita. We visited this beach early on a weekday morning during our taxi driver guided tour of Isla Margarita. If you help the fisherman bring in their nets, you’ll be rewarded with some fresh fish. Hesperia Hotel & Beach Resort
April 27th, 2009Hesperia is one of the few luxury resort hotels on Margarita Island. We saw the grounds from far up on a hill top during our taxi driver tour of the island. Castillo San Carlos De Borromeo
April 26th, 2009The Castillo San Carlos De Borromeo is located in the city of Pampatar on Isla Margarita. The fort or “castle” was constructed almost entirely of hard coral from the Caribbean Sea. Los Frailes Snorkeling Tour
April 26th, 2009I took my Canon SD700 IS and its underwater caes with me on this Los Frailes snorkeling tour. The visbility in Caribbean Sea was pretty decent and I got some nice shots of coral and tropical fish. The best part was when the boat captain tossed leftover chicken pieces into the water. April 26th, 2009Another highlight of our trip to Isla Margarita was the snorkeling tour we went on with Marcos Tours. The tour departed from Playa El Tirano to the Los Frailes Islands.
