Instead of flying back to the Caracas (CCS) airport in Venezuela, we chose to go to Trinidad & Tobago. Our flight was from the Porlamar (PMV) airport on Isla Margarita to the Port of Spain (POS) airport on the island of Trinidad located to the east of Margarita. Playa El Yaque is a great white sand beach located on the central southern coast of Margarita Island not too far from the airport. Most of the beach is dominated by windsurfers and kite surfers. There area also a good selection of bars, restaurants and a few clubs. Many of the accomodations and services cater to the water sports enthusiasts. For more, click on the picture or link below.

We were lucky enough to be on Isla Margarita during Venezuela’s Declaration of Independence Day. From our balcony on the 12th floor of the Bahia Del Sol condo building, we were able to see the fireworks display over the city of Porlamar. For more, click on the link or image below.
